Ram Bahadur Thapa (Nepali: राम बहादुर थापा), also known by his nom de guerre Badal, is a Nepali communist politician and the current Minister for Home Affairs.[1][2][3] He is a member of the central secretariat of Nepal Communist Party (NCP). Before the establishment of the Nepal Communist Party, he was General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre).[citation needed] He was elected to National Assembly from Bagmati Pradesh in 2018.
He was the Minister for Defense during the Katawal incident, which led to the resignation of Pushpa Kamal Dahal.[4]
